For young people in need of specific, targeted support, we
offer up to 12 weeks of hourly 1-2-1 sessions with our dedicated mentors and
youth workers.
These sessions can take place in school, in a safe space in
the community.
Each young person will work with their mentor to develop an
individual support plan that addresses their needs and will review their
progress at regular intervals. These
plans are flexible and will always adjust to changing circumstances.
Our youth workers are not trained counsellors or therapists,
but they do have experience in dealing with a wide range of issues relating to
relationships, sexual health & wellbeing, body-image and self-esteem and mental
health. They are trained in
positive coaching techniques and active listening.
Building positive relationships is at the heart of
our work so these sessions will often include support for young people around
relationship and sex education topics at an appropriate level.
